Pay more for lighting capacity

SwitchBot's 15-inch RGBICWW Ceiling Light is the more relevant of the two sizes when a room needs a substantial central light. It combines warm-to-cool white, dimming and occasional color scenes in a flush fitting, without taking a corner away from furniture.

It measures about 37.6 cm (14.8 inches) across and 5.2 cm (2 inches) deep. That is a larger visible disc than the 12-inch model, but still a low-profile shape. Choose it because the room needs the extra claimed light output and the larger fitting looks right.

The brightness advantage comes with a footnote

SwitchBot advertises 3,200 lumens from the 15-inch light, compared with 2,000 from the 12-inch model. Its own comparison image qualifies those figures as measured without the lampshade. That makes them less useful than a verified measurement of the assembled fixture in a room. We have not measured its output, color accuracy or low-end dimming.

The stated power rises from 20 W to 32 W, while the white-temperature range remains 2700K to 6500K. The larger model therefore offers greater advertised capacity, not a wider white range. It is worth considering when you expect the smaller fitting to be insufficient, but a desk or reading corner may still benefit from its own aimed light.

The colorful images do not promise editable zones

The RGBICWW name and gradient photographs can suggest a panel you can color area by area. SwitchBot's current support guidance says otherwise: a selected static color fills the panel, and independently assigning different colors to separate areas is unsupported.

Preset animated scenes are advertised, but they are a different feature from custom zone-based color control. That distinction matters if the whole purchase is supposed to become an elaborate gaming-room canvas. For ordinary white light with occasional mood changes, it is less of a drawback. Paying for the larger size does not remove the restriction.

A permanent fixture needs a sensible control plan

The LED source is integrated and nonreplaceable, and the manual excludes external dimmers. Replacing a conventional fitting may mean electrical work or a wall-control change as well as buying the light. Buy from the store for your region, because US units run on 100–125 V AC and European units on 220–240 V, and have the wiring and mounting assessed before ordering.

The app's power-recovery setting can make the fitting turn on when wall-switch power returns, stay off, or resume its previous state. This is useful when other people still expect the wall switch to operate a light. With the circuit switched off, however, smart control cannot bring it back on.

Matter over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi allows direct ecosystem pairing without a SwitchBot bridge or Thread router. SwitchBot offers shared scenes as the workaround for operating multiple ceiling lights together, with possible timing differences between fixtures. The light has no built-in presence sensor; the sensor is a separate bundle component.

Compare complete regional prices

The single fitting costs about $80 in the US and about €70 or £70 in the EU and UK at list price. All three of SwitchBot's stores had it in stock on October 24, 2026, including the EU store, which had been taking preorders since September. One fitting is below each store's $99, €99 or £99 free-delivery threshold, so delivery adds about $10, €10 or £10, for about $90, €80 or £80 in total at list price. Installation and any additional applicable tax come on top. SwitchBot has advertised discount codes on this light more than once; in late October the US and EU stores had one on the single fitting, so check the product page before paying list price.

At list price, the smaller light costs about $30 less in the US and about €20 or £20 less in the EU and UK, with the same delivery charge. Against SwitchBot's shade-free lumen figures, the larger light promises about 60% more output for about 40% more money in the EU and UK. In the US its price rises by the same 60%, so the upgrade is better value in Europe. Pay the difference when the larger fitting and greater advertised output solve a real room need. Keep an existing ceiling fitting that already lights the space well, or use a movable Floor Lamp if the missing piece is evening atmosphere rather than central illumination.
